Redwood Valley, Mendocino County Vineyards and Harvest The grapes were Estate Grown and Organically Farmed from our family’s Mendocino County vineyards located in Redwood Valley. The grapes were harvested and field-sorted by hand in mid October 2006 at an average of 26.5 brix. Winemaking and Cooperage The grapes were picked at full maturity, de-stemmed and gently crushed into fermenters. The must soaked at a cool temperature for seven days, at which point native yeast fermentation began. Post-fermentation maceration with heat followed for five days. The wine was aged in new French Oak (35%) and in two-year-old (65%) for 22 months, which included six months of native malolactic fermentation. The blend was assembled and bottled in June without filtration. This vintage received 1 year of bottle age before its release in June 2010.
